Want Your New Website to Rank within a Month? Here are the Tricks Performed by Top SEO Companies.

by Mandeep Saran @ G Web Pro Marketing Inc. – Toronto

Acquiring a good position in the SERPs for a new website isn’t an easy task. The artificial intelligence used by Google and similar search engines is constantly getting smarter and more discerning. If you’re new in the market, then you’ll have to earn the trust of search engines which requires significant effort. You need to have a smart interface, regular blog posts, business listing submissions, social shares, keyword optimization and most importantly, you need a strategy to get backlinks from trusted and niche sources. Here is the best practice strategies used by the top SEO companies. Use Keywords with Low and Medium Search Volume Phrases that include one or two words are generally the most searched keywords. Getting ranked for such these keywords won’t be easy if you’re new due to competition from bigger companies for the same position. Instead, look to for the long phrase keywords that include three or more words and that don’t have as much competition. For example, “Toronto SEO” is a keyword with high search volume and high competition. Meanwhile, “Professional SEO Services in Toronto” is a medium search volume keyword with much less completion. Therefore, by using “Professional SEO Services in Toronto” you will not only get your website ranked quicker, but it’ll also get a boost to rank higher with the keyword “SEO Toronto”, as both the words SEO and Toronto are there in “Professional SEO Services in Toronto”. Use Keyword Modifiers If you’re facing difficulties ranking with the low and medium search volume keywords, then considering adding a keyword modifier. For example, if you are unable to get a good rank with “Professional SEO Services in Toronto”, you can use “Quality SEO Services in Toronto” or “Best SEO Services in Toronto”.  With this method, your website can get clicks and impressions for all those semantic keywords and also provide the chance to be shown in related search queries. Stay Away from Money Keywords For a new business, getting leads by targeting money keywords is tough as various other companies have been targeting the same keywords for years. Thus, the best way to get leads for a new business is to learn what information about your industry the targeted customers are searching for and build content specifically for that. Do search for “how to” keywords that you can use for content creation. Buy Traffic Above all, the ranking of your website depends heavily […]

How to Optimize Your Business for Smart Devices

by James @ G Web Pro Marketing Inc. – Toronto

According to Google, more than 50% of search queries are now made on mobile devices. Users are more comfortable using mobile apps than surfing on desktops. This means mobiles should be the prime target for businesses interested in growth. Websites without mobile versions or poorly optimized for mobile devices will miss the opportunity to get a high level of audience engagement. They’ll also encounter a gradual rank drop in the SERPs. Here are some optimization tips that can save your website from an impending SEO disaster. List Your Business in Google My Business Google My Business offers an easy way to display your website in the search results. Just fill out the form and add as many images as possible. It will show a Knowledge Graph which includes your business details when users search with your business name. Listing your business will also boost your ranking in the SERPs on both mobiles and desktops. Check Your Listings Often Listing sites are very popular with mobile users because they are easy to use on the go. As a result, several listing apps are used today to find a business. To make the most of this trend, you need to check your listings often and ensure that all the details provided there are correct. You should also try to get some good reviews on these sites so that more users can rely on you. Optimize for Local Searches Local businesses can strongly benefit from search results on mobile, which is another reason to keep your local listings up to date. This includes checking which keywords are typed most often to search for local businesses similar to yours. Find that information and then better optimize your content. Add Keywords Based on Voice Search When it comes to optimizing your website for mobile devices, pay attention to voice searches. The keyword selection method meant for voice search is different from the normal ways of choosing keywords. When you pick keywords for desktop users, you need to concentrate more on exact match keywords. But for voice search, you should be choosing long phrase keywords because speaking something is not as time-consuming as writing it down. Also remember to look for informative keywords as people over the phone are more prone to ask questions. Get a Mobile Version Apart from being responsive, you should also have a mobile version of your site to secure a good ranking […]

Why You Should Invest in Local Citations

by James @ G Web Pro Marketing Inc. – Toronto

The theory behind successful SEO has changed a lot in the past few years. Before, all that mattered was the quantity of links you had. Nowadays, effective SEO is built on getting quality backlinks to raise your ranking up in the SERPs. Therefore, you should focus on increasing the number of quality links and local citations. Getting listed in local directories, likely won’t give you a huge jump in the rankings overnight. However, you will pull ahead of websites that have a similar SEO standing to your own. Here are the benefits: Validation: Citations reflect validity which is why Google’s algorithm takes them so seriously. You can put up a website and say that you are the best in the industry, but citations are what verify whether your company is something of value. Google also considers the reviews that you get from local listing sites. Community: Citations also let you have a community that plays an important role in local search engine rankings. Your activities in the community make your business real to Google and help it to relay your authenticity. B2B and B2C Marketing: Online directories are a good source of clients. Both users and businesses alike might need your service or product. They allow you a chance at both B2B and B2C marketing. Niche Industry: There are still numerous businesses that don’t have a website. They are just listed in some local citations, meant for niche industries. Google trusts these sites a lot as it knows they contain the only information on them to be found. If you are one of these businesses who have just created a website, you will improve your ranking if you are already listed in some local listing sites focused on small industries like your own. Security: Citations protect against manipulation. Link submission can be manipulated. There are several instances where links get redirected to sites that are completely irrelevant to their source sites. But brand mentions are harder to manipulate as the citations should be relevant to the content redirected. Enhanced Maps Visibility: Once your local citation gets crawled by Google, your business is more likely to pop up in Google Maps when people search with the relevant keywords. Domain Authority: Listing your site in quality sites improves the domain authority of your website. Consequently, it provides you the chance of getting ranked with more complex search queries. Local Advertising: If you […]

WordPress for eCommerce? Your Checkpoints before Launching Your Store

by James @ G Web Pro Marketing Inc. – Toronto

WordPress is the most popular CMS platform in the world. It’s vast selection of themes and easy-to-use admin panel have revolutionized the web world. Once regarded as a mere blogging tool, WordPress is now being used by big brands like CNN, BBC, TechCrunch, Mashable and many more. However, there is still a lot of debate regarding WordPress’s eligibility to run an eCommerce site. The answer will depend what the user needs. Some eCommerce businesses can be better managed using Opencart and Magento. For the rest, WordPress can work wonders. Before launching your online store, read on to determine if WordPress is right for you. Advantages Vert Easy Installation If you are a WordPress blogger, you probably already know how easy it is to install and set up. You don’t need to be a coder to manage a WordPress site. All it takes is just a few hours of study. No matter if it is product upload or sales monitoring, WordPress does it in just a few steps. Wide Range of Themes and Plug ins WordPress is known for its wide range of themes and plugins. By just using the right themes, you can turn even a basic blog site into a million-dollar online store. Plugins help customize your site as you want without writing a single code. You can also add different kinds of functionalities to your site by using plugins for completely free. Easy eCommerce Integration Another reason to use WordPress is its easy eCommerce integration with your existing site, be it a blog site or a lead generation site. For example, if you have a WordPress blog, you can turn it into an eCommerce store without having it redesigned. Just install a plugin like WooCommerce and you are on your way. Various Payment Gateways The user-friendliness of an eCommerce store depends a lot on the payment gateways that it supports. With WordPress, you don’t have to worry about that. It supports various payment gateways like PayPal, Google Checkout, Wordpay, ChronoPay, CCAvenue and more. Apart from this, WordPress also comes with manual payment options. Disadvantages Open Source Because most system codes are easily available online, there are a lot of questions regarding the security of your eCommerce store. Though there are solutions like Wordfence and Secury, they are third party plugins. This means there’s a risk of losing your important data. Regular Updates WordPress releases a lot of updates […]

5 Common Mistakes to Avoid When Creating a Google My Business Listing

by James @ G Web Pro Marketing Inc. – Toronto

With the evolving technologies of smart devices and the increasing number of local searches, it’s necessary to have your physical store stand out. And the easiest way to add authority to your local business is by getting it listed on Google My Business. But there are some optimization rules if you want it done properly. Let’s see what they are. Having Duplicate Business Name Some listings on Google My Business don’t become visible because they have common names. So, before you publish your listing, check whether your business shares a brand name with other organizations. If it does, then you must change it. This scenario can occur when businesses use keywords in their brand name hoping that it will improve their search engine visibility. It may help initially, but it will also affect your brandability in the long term. You Are Open 24/7 Another common mistake is claiming that you are open 24/7. Your website may have a chat operator or you may provide an overnight customer support. But it doesn’t mean that you are open 24/7. On GMB only counts your open hours as the time when you or a customer are able to pay you a visit. Providing the wrong hours violates Google’s guidelines and hampers your online visibility. You Have Not Given the Right Contact Number Your number can be incorrect and there can be various reasons behind it. You may have listed the wrong digits, meaning you’re directing visitors to someone else. It may also be because the contact information is seen as incorrect by Google even if it is yours. It generally happens when your number is not local. There are a good number of business listings that don’t show up on Google local search due to having numbers from other regions. Make sure that you use a local number on your Google My Business Listing. You Have Not Added Photos to Your Listing People search for your brand name on Google because they want to know more about your business. Images of your physical store make your business authentic and build trust with the users who are yet to visit your place. You can also add company logos and photos of your employees. You Are Not Being Reviewed Google will never penalize you if you don’t get reviews. But it will not reward you either. Therefore, start asking your clients to leave their feedback. […]

Everything You Need to Know about Mobile Website and Responsive Design

by Mandeep Saran @ G Web Pro Marketing Inc. – Toronto

A mobile friendly web appearance is necessary for any business today. Apart from attracting mobile users, mobile friendliness can also be a major ranking factor according to Google’s 2015 algorithm update. Since then, many website owners have migrated to responsive designs with some adopting a separate mobile site. Both are viable options, but you need to understand the differences between them and choose the most suitable option for your business. Responsive Design A responsive site is coded in a way that it fits all types of devices, be it a desktop, mobile or a tablet. The tailored code lets your website resize perfectly when it is displayed. It gives an optimal viewing experience by using the same domain name. Along with this, its back-end code detects the dimensions of a screen and responds immediately. It means that you can make even the small changes perfectly visible to all three types of devices just by updating the main site. Benefits Sites with responsive web designs don’t require special maintenance as responsive design uses the same domain name as the main site. Visitors viewing the site on mobile will be able to access all the content available on the main site. Responsive designs future-proof your site. Mobile Site A mobile site may can have the exact look of your main website or it can be designed differently. Where it differs from responsive design is that it uses a different domain name than the actual site and requires separate maintenance. A mobile site loads faster than a normal site and more importantly, it gets preferred by Google when searched using a mobile device. It also lets you create a unique experience for mobile users. Benefits Because the site is meant only for the mobile users, you can optimize the journey of the viewers. For example, you can emphasize different content that’s different from the main site. As the content will be visible on mobiles, the page size can be reduced. This will eventually improve the load speed of the site. Mobile sites can be navigated easily and they also come with at low cost. Responsive designs are generally preferred by most website owners because they don’t require any spate maintenance. But if your business is mobile centric and you get a lot of mobile visitors daily, then you should start thinking about creating a mobile site as it will allow for more optimized […]

How to Optimize Your Business for Branded Search

by Mandeep Saran @ G Web Pro Marketing Inc. – Toronto

Users who invest in digital marketing, primarily focus on getting their keywords ranked. Of course, the most important concern is having their businesses displayed alongside the most searched words related to the services or products they offer. But what about the brand name? You may not earn a new customer by being visible on the SERP with your business name, but there’s a threat of losing customers if they can’t find your business by its name. Businesses that have unique names don’t need as much effort to become visible on the SERP. But for companies that have common business names, or have common words in their business names, it will be harder to secure the top position in the SERP when the brand name is searched for. You have to make Google understand that your name stands for a different organization and that you are there for a different purpose. There are also several other tasks that can be done for brand enhancement. Let’s go over a few. Anchor Texts To make sure that you are ranking for your own brand name, you should have it in anchor texts a good number of times. Google decides what pages you have on your website after crawling the anchor texts so make full use of it. Even so, you still need to create anchor texts on off page contents to prove your authenticity. If businesses from other fields get ranked with your brand name, you can make slight changes in creating the anchor texts. For example, if you provide photography services and find that a travel agency ranks with your brand name, you can simply add “photography” to your business name to help Google understand that you are a different business. Business Listing Business listings can give a huge boost to your branded search optimization. Listing on high authority sites proves your authenticity and authority and thus, Google starts quickly relying on your business. What you need to ensure is that you are not getting listed in low authority directory submission sites because Google considers those links spam. Display the Right Pages Once you start ranking for your business name, you should focus on displaying the right pages from your site. You aren’t finished just because you’ve secured the first spot. Your most relevant and useful pages should be visible to answer questions related to your brand. Home pages, product pages and […]

How to Set up and Optimize Your WordPress Blog for SEO

by Mandeep Saran @ G Web Pro Marketing Inc. – Toronto

When it comes to optimizing a website for SEO, WordPress is the easiest solution available today. As it comes with an inbuilt admin panel, you don’t need to log in to your c-panel every time to make necessary changes to your site. Apart from uploading content, you can also optimize your site for SEO by accessing the wp-admin. Here’s how: Prepare Your Permalinks WordPress lets you set your permalinks in just a few clicks. All you need to do is go to Settings>Permalinks and change the default settings to the “post name” setting. You’re now ready to create URLs automatically according to the title of the posts. But before you do that, you should know what type of URLs can be created and what the benefit of the above-mentioned change is. There are generally two types of URLs, dynamic URL and static URL. A dynamic URL (www.abc.com/%123#) is mostly seen in eCommerce stores. As a product may have different sizes and colours, there can be a lot of URLs for similar items and the links can’t all be the same. Online stores use dynamic URLs automatically generated based on the product IDs to solve this problem. Static URLs are meant for sites that aren’t online stores. As they don’t have as many pages as an eCommerce store, post named custom URLs can be easily created and this is what Google recommends because these URLs consist of the topic of the post which is both user and SEO friendly. Install Yoast SEO Plugin Yoast SEO is probably the easiest solution to optimize a WordPress site. But installing it alone won’t do the job. There are still a lot of steps you need to take to help your blog acquire the top position. After you install the plugin, you should connect your site with Google search console to use the features of the tool and help Google crawl and index your site once it’s live. You should add your company and business details to Yoast SEO plugin so that Google can identify and show your site on the SERP. Yoast SEO also allows you to create meta data and titles so that search engines can read them to find your business. Generally, the plugin automatically generates these details from the body of the content. But, if you want to make it more optimized, you can do it yourself. Check which keywords suit […]

Are You an Automaker? Discover What Digital Marketing Can Do for You

by Isaac Dumet @ G Web Pro Marketing Inc. – Toronto

Marketing has always been a key factor for the automobile industry. Both television commercials and newspaper ads have traditionally greatly benefitted automakers for many years. But currently, automobile manufacturers are focusing more on digital media to reach potential customers. According to eMarketer reports, the majority of auto companies believe that investing in digital marketing is more useful than the traditional media. It’s why digital advertising spending by the auto industry rose to almost 22% in 2015. The scope of customization for different demographics is a major reason for this growth, with the credit going to the search engines and social media. These platforms provide user details and help marketers to understand the buyer’s journey. Here are some best practice methods to consider before beginning your first digital marketing campaign for your automobile business. Reviews People typically research online before they make a buying decision, especially when it comes to buying a high-ticket item like a car. They want to know the specifications and features of different car models they’re interest in. This is why you need to have good reviews for your product. Most car buyers seek the help of online dealership reviews before finalizing their decision. Therefore, you need to check your online reviews regularly and tackle the negative ones wisely. You can also run an ORM campaign to get rid of the negative reviews. Search A report by G/O Digital shows that 30% of car buyers immediately search Google to start their car buying process. Thus, a strong online presence as an automaker is necessary. To ensure that you appear in the SERP when related queries are typed, you should make your site search engine friendly and run a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) campaign. An SEO strategy should include keyword analysis, link building, blogging, improving the domain authority and more. Social Media Platforms There’s hardly anyone any more who isn’t active on social media. A CMO report states that 1 in 4 car users discuss on social media before buying a car. Apart from this, there are several social media groups that help buyers know about the advantages and disadvantages of a specific car model. Social Media sites can also play an effective role in building brand loyalty, improve user experience and influence purchase decisions. All you have to ensure is that you share a good number of engaging content and respond to customer queries. Mobile It’s the […]
