How To Do SEO For Existing Website And Increase Your ROI

Many people create a website with their own set of preferences, which generally tend to include the visual design and the information they want to get across. 20 Ways to Use Email to Automate Your Business

by Ryan Stewart @ WEBRIS

We’ve received almost 3,000 contact or consultation requests over the last year. Up until a few months ago, managing this was a nightmare.   As a small business, I don’t have any sales people – I manage everything myself. What’s even worse, a large majority of these leads were garbage. I was spending all my time chasing down leads that if I got on the phone, weren’t interested in hiring us. I knew I had to make a change before I lost my mind. So, I turned to automation. Long story short we’ve managed to automate lead qualification, follow ups and appointment scheduling to the point where all I have to do is wake up and check my calendar for appointments. It’s amazing. I want to pass this feeling on to you. The problem most face with automation is not knowing where to begin. If you have the process built out, you can automate almost anything. In this post, I’m going to share with you 20 ways you can use email to automate parts of your business. NOTE: This blog post is to serve as inspiration to understand the options available. I won’t be covering the various hooks, triggers and segmentation aspects needed to execute them. Is Your Business Ready For What’s Coming?

by Ryan Stewart @ WEBRIS

The fact that our community went crazy about “Mobilegeddon“ is kind of a joke. Have you looked around lately? People of all ages live in their phones. [Tweet “It shouldn’t come as a surprise that in 2016 your website SHOULD be mobile friendly. “] In all honesty, the “mobile friendly” update is nothing compared to what’s coming next. Emerging tech (VR, AI, 3d printing) is going to impact human behavior in a way we’ve never seen before. I’m going to analyze 7 industry shifts and the marketing adjustments you should be thinking about now, before it’s too late. What’s the longest you’ll wait for a page to load? We’re seeing platforms react to this with Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) and Facebook Instant Articles (IA). These markups allow your content to load instantly within Facebook, Twitter or Google (both iPhone and Android). Google AMP: Facebook IA: This poses a challenge to marketers because traffic does not pass through to the site, it stays within a frame of the network. While the website will get credit for a visit in analytics, the engagement metrics will plummet (bounce rate, TOS, PPV). This makes it difficult to gauge the impact of our content and justify spending the time / money to create it. As previously established, people don’t want to visit websites – they want information with as little effort as possible. Google has already begun cashing in on this trend with knowledge graphs, instant answers and Google Flights. If you’ve traveled anywhere in the last 6 months, you’ve probably used it. That’s not by accident – a Google study found 61% of people use search engines to plan travel. Instead of funneling that traffic to Orbitz and Kayak, … Continue reading Is Your Business Ready For What’s Coming?

This is THE BEST Way to Grow Your Snapchat Following in 2017

by Ryan Stewart @ WEBRIS

Snapchat is the fastest growing social network. EVER. On top of that, it’s the most engaged – users snap over 400 million times a day. If your audience isn’t using it now, they will be very soon. Right now, marketers are struggling to build a presence on Snapchat, for a number of reasons: Snapchat is 100% mobile and closed off. Snaps aren’t indexed by the web, you can only access them within the mobile app. It’s the first non-evergreen network.  People can’t discover past content and follow you. In other words, you’re only as good as your latest snap. Snapchat ad buys are crazy expensive. Last time I checked there was a minimum buy of $750,000 to advertise there. Most are relying on promoting to followers on other networks. Unless you’ve built a massive following on other networks, this isn’t going to get you very far. You need to expose your account to a new audience. I’ve been promoting my Snapchat account with Facebook and Instagram ads and have seen a steady, low cost growth in followers:   1. Get your “add me on Snapchat” URL This URL is a deep link to the Snapchat app to follow your profile. You can get yours by adding your username to the end of this URL: https://www.snapchat.com/add/YOURUSERNAME For example, mine is https://www.snapchat.com/add/ryanstewart40 Once setup, this link will redirect to the Snapchat app and allow people to follow you. It only works on mobile, so don’t waste time promoting it on desktop.   2. Create a “clicks to … Continue reading This is THE BEST Way to Grow Your Snapchat Following in 2017

Step by Step Process to Find Anyone’s Email Address

by Ryan Stewart @ WEBRIS

We pitch over 5,000 reporters, journalists and bloggers each month for clients. Our data shows personalized emails have a 3x response and success rate. “Personalization” isn’t just getting a name. It’s finding the right person in the organization and matching it with the right email. I’m going to give you the process we use to find that contact information. It doesn’t matter if it’s link building, PR or outbound sales – this post will improve your success rate. Before I get into the checklist, it’s incredibly important you understand something. When prospecting, there are 2 types of websites you will come across: 1. Website’s with 1 author (bloggers). We would prefer to find a persons email address, but for these sites it’s ok to find general contact emails (contact@site.com, etc). Generally the same person managing the generic email manages the whole site, including the content. 2. Website’s with multiple authors (media). For these sites, we can’t find general contact emails. We need to find the personal email address of the journalist covering the content relevant to our pitch. With that being said, let’s get into the checklist… 1. Use BuzzStream’s Buzzmarker browser plugin We use BuzzStream as a tool to manage outreach targets. They built [what I think] is the best browser plugin out there, the Buzzmarker. The Buzzmarker scans the page you’re on and looks for social profiles, names and contact info. Not only is it an incredible time saver, but it syncs with your Buzzstream database. Download the Buzzmarker plugin here This … Continue reading Step by Step Process to Find Anyone’s Email Address

We decided to put together this post to round up our tops “real estate SEO” strategies that have helped to achieve explosive results. There’s 3 sections to this post (click to jump): Breaking down the keyword funnel Building out the proper website structure Generating high quality links the right way Let’s get into it. We’re not going to cover basic SEO tips in this post, so I want to cover items that you need still to optimize (in addition to this post). Technical SEO. Items like optimized URL structure, working Sitemaps.xml website structure [NOTE: read our in depth guide to technical SEO here]. On page SEO. Items like page titles, keyword density (on each page) and content quality / depth. User experience signals. Items like on site dwell time, low bounce rate and searcher satisfaction. Online buzz. Items like social media activity, branded search and online coverage (press and bloggers). These items are beaten to death on the web, so we’re going to focus on strategies they’re not covering. SEO is incredibly competitive in the real estate niche. The SERPs are dominated by authority sites like Zillow, Realtor and Trulia. However, small sites can compete by understanding searcher intent and choosing keywords the big sites aren’t. The easiest way to illustrate the keyword selection process is with a … Continue reading Real Estate SEO: Actionable Tips to Implement TODAY

10 Ways to Improve Your Avvo Rating – Attorney Marketing Tips

by Ryan Stewart @ WEBRIS

Up until 1976,  it was considered highly unethical for lawyers to advertise and market themselves. 40 years later, things have changed – there’s endless places to advertising your practice (some have even placed ads on condoms or papers used to roll joints). Luckily, the internet has given you options like SEO, PPC and Avvo to market your business in a way that’s more conducive to your brand. In this article, I’m going to cover: Why you should invest your time into optimizing Avvo The “ranking factors” Avvo is looking at when showing attorney profiles Simple and easy tips to optimize your Avvo profile to get more organic views   In a nutshell, Avvo allows users to leave reviews (between 1 and 10) about an attorney’s work. The legal community is split about Avvo – there’s quite a bit of negative buzz about the platform: Some question the ethics of it: Honestly, it doesn’t matter how you feel about it – from a marketing point of view I’m telling you it can’t be ignored, for a number of reasons: Avvo automatically creates a profile with reviews from other sites. The only way you can improve your standing is by claiming it and completing it. Avvo dominates organic search. A lot of people will be finding (or not finding) your profile and making a decision to work with you or not. Avvo is a legitimate source of legal information. You can answer the questions asked by people who are looking for help with legal issues, and easily establish your … Continue reading 10 Ways to Improve Your Avvo Rating – Attorney Marketing Tips

Our Guide to Properly Outsourcing and Offshoring Work

by Ryan Stewart @ WEBRIS

I thought long and hard about if I should post this on our agency blog, or my personal blog. “Outsourcing” is generally frowned upon in our industry, especially if you’re using low cost labor to deliver client work. Ultimately, I chose to publish it here because we’re committed to creating an open, honest and transparent agency. We offshore work – I don’t want to hide it, I want to discuss it. The remainder of this post will break down exactly how we’re doing it. Why you should consider outsourcing or offshoring work. What you could potentially outsource (examples of how we offshore work). How you can find, train and hire the right offshore people to help you out. A few weeks ago, we hosted a Meetup about offshoring – I got some objections that I feel the need to address. Objection 1: Low cost labor = low quality work. Yes, if you’re paying someone $3/hour, you’re going to get what you pay for. You’re not paying them to think – you’re paying them to do. Offshoring fails when you give them too much responsibility without enough information. Objection 2: What you’re doing is Un-American and you should be hiring Americans… When you’re first getting started, your biggest asset is your time. Your time only goes so far – employees can help to scale your time and maximize outputs. Americans are expensive – I used offshore labor as an interim solution while we were building revenue. We now employ 8 Americans and are hiring more each quarter. Our local employees would not be here without our … Continue reading Our Guide to Properly Outsourcing and Offshoring Work
