What Does "Organic Search" Mean? | We Do Web Content

We Do Web Content

The term "organic search" refers to the natural search engine results that appear for any given query. These are separate from the "paid search" or "sponsored" search engine results that also appear after each search is processed through the search engine. When you buy a keyword or phrase in order to appear in the search results for that topic, your listing will appear in the sponsored or paid search results and are labeled as such. Organic search engine results are the most relevant search engine results for that query as selected by the search engine. It goes without saying that search results that appear organically are viewed as more relevant and trustworthy than the websites that are paying top dollar to be included alongside those organic search results. When you optimize your web content to appear in organic search engine results, you are telling potential readers that your SEO content provides valuable information about their search topic, not that you paid a search engine to appear there regardless of the quality of information connected to that link. The best part of optimizing your web content is the ability for your links and website to naturally show up in the search engine results for your keywords without paying thousands of dollars for sponsored links. If you do not have the time, writing skills, or SEO knowledge to create your own SEO content, contact We Do Web Content today to receive a custom price quote and learn more about our SEO copywriting services.

Exact Volume Restriction – Keyword Planner Jumps the Shark!

Google’s Keyword Planner, a once useful tool for the general public, has now been hobbled and is for the most part, useless. If you have an AdWords account and haven’t bought any ads recently, here is what you will be greeted with: This page shows ranges for search volumes. For a more detailed view, set up and run a campaign. Like everything else Google does, ultimately, it benefits Google. Sorry, the truth hurts. Now, Google wants you to start paying for AdWords campaigns if you want to use the original Keyword Planner tool. The Average Monthly searches, as indicated above display some very vague data ranges. Practically useless for those who research long tail keywords for search engine optimization (SEO) purposes. Here’s what Cassie at Google has to say about the issue: We recently made a change to Keyword Planner that shows search volume data ranges based on spend and how you use the tool. This change aims to prevent “bots” from submitting an overwhelming number of searches in Keyword Planner, which was slowing down the tool and occasionally causing errors that prevented people from using the tool. We’ve heard your feedback that this limited view of search volume makes […]

How to Promote your Business Online Effectively

by btvbill @ Vermont Web Design, Web Hosting and Development

If your website isn’t generating the business leads you want, you are probably lazy! Are you offended? Great. Perhaps now that I’ve gotten your attention you will appreciate some “tough love” and words of wisdom. A website or social media campaign is NOT a “set it and forget it” infomercial Although most people mistakenly believe that simply having a website is the pathway to riches, it just is NOT true! Websites, social media and free ads are all tools. Simply owning a hammer doesn’t make you a master carpenter. Owning a website does not make you an Internet marketing tycoon! Make sure to promote your website address EVERYWHERE. That means on your business cards, work vehicles, e-mail signature, t-shirts, your dog’s collar, etc. This helps to build familiarity with your brand/business and when people have a need for the services, they will automatically think of you. Are you taking advantage of  free advertising? Post information about your business or services on free websites such as Craigslist, Front Porch Forum and any other place where you can post a link to your website for free. If possible ALWAYS include a good photo with your ad. People think visually rather than textual. […]

JavaScript & SEO – What you should know

by Emma @ OnCrawl : Onsite SEO monitoring tool

The relation between Javascript and SEO is a highly debated subject in the SEO sphere. Whether your site is using that language or whether you are planning to audit a client’s website rendering Javascript, there are a few things you should take into account before crawling it.

What is Javascript?

JavaScript is a programming language used to make web pages interactive and dynamic. It can be used for comment or AJAX recommendation widgets for instance. Javascript is operating on visitor’s computer and doesn’t need constant downloads from your website.
On the other hand, as Javascript is an interpreted language, it does not need [...]

How NOT to Manage Your Content

by @ Getinposition Search Engine Marketing Articles

When you are in the search marketing industry you often hear the phrase "content is king." This basically means that it is content (web pages, pdf's, word processing documents, spreadsheets etc.) which form the basis of the world wide web. It is these documents which search engines retrieve, index and rank, and it is these documents which people search for on a daily basis. I recently read a story where a well known website was going to remove literally thousands of pages from their website because there were few visitors to the pages. Now, this may seem like a sound reason to remove old pages. But in terms of search, this can be an incredible loss to your website that can ultimately affect your bottom line.

by Keith Hodges @ OnCrawl : Onsite SEO monitoring tool

Search engine optimisation is now an industry with a history, we can plot timelines on changes in approach, algorithms and perception and use this knowledge of the industry to determine what comes next. The SEO industry is now old enough to have ‘traditions’ – the set markers, standards and principles that an SEO agency or in-house SEO team will work towards. However, in the last year changing trends suggests traditions might be set to change, with SEO moving heavily towards Pay Per Lead (PPL).

How to survive in the real time Google Penguin era?

by Hardik Oza @ OnCrawl : Onsite SEO monitoring tool

Google has always vouched for positive search engine optimization, and has brought in new algorithms to reward genuine sites. The search engine giant has always introduced updates to make individual pages more accessible and faster to find.
On April 24, 2012 Google activated the new ranking algorithm called Penguin to punish sites that relied on excessive link building, deceptive doorway pages, keyword-stuffed pages, and low quality content for driving traffic.
This ushered in a good change for businesses and entrepreneurs who were legitimately trying to get good rankings without looking for ugly games. It took time before Google could implement the algorithm [...]

What is the Google Page Importance in SEO?

To better distribute its crawl expenses, Google needs to prioritize pages it needs to fetch. In that logic of cost optimization, the Mountain View firm has published many patents about crawls scheduling. Read below or contact us now at 802-233-3261 if you’d like to kick your web marketing campaign back into high gear. So why are so many business owners frustrated with their websites and web marketing? Here’s why: Back in the late 1990’s all you needed was a website. You could literally “set it and forget it”. Those were the glory days and early beginnings of websites. Most businesses didn’t have a clue about websites or email and getting a first page ranking in Yahoo (the number one search engine in pre-Google days) was relatively easy. Fast forward to 2017 where it seems everyone is on the web, fighting tooth and nail for the coveted first page search results in Google.  Social media evolved and everyone rushed to Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc., in an attempt to market their businesses online. Still Putting All of Your Eggs in Google's Basket?

by @ Getinposition Search Engine Marketing Articles

Google has become synonymous with searching the Internet. So much so that "googling" means to search for information online. When people try to improve their site's visibility, it's no surprise that they measure their success by their Google ranking. This perception is not unreasonable. Google is still the most popular search engine, used for about 46 percent of all searches [1], down from a high of 80 percent [2]. However, focusing all your efforts on Google means ignoring a large part of your potential audience. Yahoo is used for 22 percent of all searches, MSN for 13 [3], and both companies are positioning themselves for dominance of the search engine market. All three engines remain relevant when building a web marketing campaign.

Personalize with client name, date, day and more! Supports […]
