Even if you run a robust operation, processing large volumes of orders inevitably results in mistakes and situations that are beyond your control. For example, most online stores rely on 3rd party shippers to deliver their products to the end customer. Well what happens when there’s a breakdown with your shipper? When something doesn’t get delivered, is it the shipper’s fault or yours? When a customer makes a complaint, do you trust that they are telling the truth? With the holiday selling season right around the corner, these problems only get amplified. For example… You have to deal with customers wanting to make returns. You have to interact with frustrated people trying to make last minute purchases for their friends and loved ...

The Top 9 Mistakes Of Ecommerce Store Site Design (And How To Fix Them)
by Steve C @ MyWifeQuitHerJob.com
Mon Aug 21 04:20:42 PDT 2017
Designing a high converting website is one of the hardest aspects of selling online. Not only do you have to step inside your customer’s brain and speak his or her language but you also have to guide them to the right product and close the sale. After critiquing almost a hundred websites over the course of running my online store course, I’ve discovered that most people make the same fundamental mistakes with their site design. Here are the most common problems and how to fix them. Mistake #1: No One Can Tell What You Sell You should always design your website with the assumption that no one knows who you are or what you sell. In fact, when someone lands on your site for the first time, you have about 5 seconds to educate them or they’ll leave. After all, if they don’t know what your product does, ...

122: How To Make 600K Selling T-Shirts On TeeSpring With Derek Pankaew
by Steve C @ The My Wife Quit Her Job Podcast
Wed Jul 06 20:58:43 PDT 2016
Today I’m happy to have Derek Pankaew on the show. Derek is someone who I met at the Ecommerce Fuel Live conference and it was pretty random how we started talking. I was sitting directly behind him during a session and I couldn’t help but peek at his screen. And I found that the screen saver on his computer was a running count of his age. I took notice and we started chatting. And as luck would have it, Derek was selling t-shirts at the time and making a killing doing it. Now if you’ve followed my blog for a while, an example that I use of what not to sell is t-shirts because it’s way too saturated. But Derek has made over 600K with a gross profit of 335K selling t-shirts online in a pretty short period of time and in this interview he shares how he did it. ...

Today I have Miracle Wanzo on the show. First off, isn’t that the coolest name ever? When I first met her, I had assumed that it was her pen name but nope, her name is really Miracle and she is one of the sweetest, most down to earth person you’ll ever meet. Anyway, I met Miracle at the Ecommerce Fuel Live event in Nashville a few months ago and I’m glad that I did. Miracle runs HipUndies.com where she sells women’s undergarments and lingerie. Now normally, I tend to think that selling clothing or anything that has to do with fashion is very difficult and challenging. In fact, I tend to discourage the students in my class from going this route because it’s extremely competitive. But Miracle has pulled it off and does extremely well with her fashion line. Today I’m really happy to have Toni Anderson back on the podcast. Now this is isn’t the first time I’ve had her on the show. Way back in episode39, we talked about how Toni manages to run a 6 figure blog, a conference, consult on the side and home school 7 kids. Now a lot has changed in the last year. For one thing, she decided to stop consulting and then reached out to me wanting to try opening an online store to replace the income from consulting. So she signed up for my Create A Profitable Online Store Course and her results have been staggering. And he’s also the goofy white guy on the Fizzle podcast where he’s frickin hilarious. You should check it out. But the main reason, I decided to have Chase on today is because is he is great at design. Here’s the thing. He’s not a developer in the traditional sense, but he’s just really good at designing websites that clearly convey a site’s true purpose and value proposition. He’s designed countless websites for entrepreneurs like Corbett Barr and Pat Flynn and I’m really excited to have him on the show ...

094: How To Make 7 Figures Creating YouTube Videos With Joe Jo Of Just Kidding Films
by Steve C @ The My Wife Quit Her Job Podcast
Wed Nov 18 20:40:24 PST 2015
Today I’m thrilled to have Joe Jo on the show. Joe and his partner Bart started JustKidding Films on YouTube back in 2007 and today have over 1.5 million subscribers. Not only that. In addition to Just Kidding Films, they also have 3 other channels JKParty, JKGamer and JKNews which all boast anywhere from 700K-1.5million subscribers each. All told, I think the 4 channels have a combined 4 million total subscribers which is incredible. If you follow me you know that when my online store was featured on the today show, I had 7X the revenue that day and the today show only gets 1.74M viewers per day. Think about it this way, a lot of cable and network TV shows don’t even have this high of a viewership so it’s pretty ridiculous that they have such a large audience. In fact, they are pretty much running a popular TV network ...
